Trey Davis shoots a career-low (67) to tie for first (-5) during the opening round of the Mountain West Championship. Nevada (E) is fourth after the first round at Gold Mountain-Olympic Course in Bremerton, Washington.

Colorado State (-8) leads the field, Boise State is second (-6), San Diego State is third (-5), Nevada (E) is fourth, Wyoming is fifth (+2), and Utah State, Fresno State, and UNLV (+5) are tied for sixth. San Jose State (+6, 9th), New Mexico (+12, 10th), and Air Force (+24, 11th) round out the standings after Day 1.

Trey Davis (-5) shot a career-low five-under (67) to tie his lowest round during his time with Nevada. Davis hit the 67 marks twice this season (1st; Husky Invitational, 2nd; Lamkin San Diego Classic). He recorded only one bogey while sinking six birdies and making 11 pars during the first 18 holes. His 67 is the third-lowest single round at the MW Championship in program history. Davis is tied with Connor Jones of Colorado State for first and sitting two shots up on Skyler Eubank (-3, 69) of Boise State.

Quim Vidal Mora and
Peyton Callens (+1) are tied for 20th after shooting 73. Vidal Mora made five birdies and Callens made three birdies during the first round.
Michael Sarro shot 75 (+3) to tie for 35th. Sarro made two birdies with 11 pars during the opening 18 holes.

A.J. Lintunen (+4) is tied for 40th through Day 1 of the Mountain West Championship. Lintunen made two birdies, but a pair of bogeys and double bogeys dropped him to 76 for the round.
