PROVO, Utah - Quim Vidal Mora shot a four-under first round and a three-under second round to tie for third (-7) at the PING Cougar Classic hosted by BYU at the Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah. The second round was suspended due to darkness with the Pack tied for seventh and through 13. 

After the first round, which is the only officially completed round, BYU led by three shots (-18) over San Diego (2nd, -15), eight shots over Boise State (3rd, -10), 11 shots over Colorado State (4th, -7), twelve shots over Pacific (5th, -6), 14 shots over Washington State (6th, -4), 16 shots over Wyoming (7th, -2) and 18 shots passed Utah Valley and Nevada (t-8, E). 

Competing as an individual, Adam Thorpe tied the best round of his career shooting a five-under 67 in the first round, and was tied for sixth through 18 holes. Thorpe matched the 67 he posted at the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate in 2020. Quim Vidal Mora paced the team through the opening round with a four-under 68. Vidal Mora's 68 was the third-lowest score this season, tying his third round at the Gene Miranda Falcon Invite, his first round at Ka'anapali Classic, and the second round at the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate. 

Michael Sarro was tied for 17th after 18 holes after a two-under 70 during the opening 18 holes of play. Sarro made five birdies during the opening round with three bogeys and is currently tied for 20th with the suspension of play in the second round. 

A.J. Lintunen closed the opening 18 with a one-over 73 to tie for 45th. Trey Davis was five-over (77) tying for 71st and Peyton Callens was tied for 79th with a seven-over 79 at the conclusion of the first round. 

The Pack will get back to action with the continuation of the second round at 8 a.m. (PT) in the PING Cougar Classic at Riverside Country Club in Provo, Utah on Saturday.
