ABOUT SAN JOSÉ STATE
San José State (19-18, 9-9 MW) got back in the win column Tuesday night with a 5-4 win over Santa Clara. The win stopped a three-game slide during which the Spartans were swept at UNLV.
This weekend's series will be the second of the season between the two teams. Nevada swept San José State at Peccole Park from March 11-13, capping it with a 15-10 win.
The series is a pivotal one in regards to maintaining top-four positions, and a place at the Mountain West Tournament Memorial Day Weekend. San José State, at 9-9 in conference play, is one game ahead of Air Force in the loss column for the fourth and final spot.
FLORES, WALTY EARN MOUNTAIN WEST WEEKLY HONORS
Nevada's 3-1 series win over Air Force featured numerous top performances, and outfielder
Anthony Flores and pitcher
Cam Walty were singled out by the Mountain West for theirs. Flores was named Mountain West Player of the Week, the Pack's second-straight time taking the honor, while Walty claimed Mountain West Pitcher of the Week.
