SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF.– As the month of April kicks off, the Wolf Pack track and field team competed in two meets this Friday. The meets saw some personal bests and a couple of Nevada all-time marks throughout a long day of competition.
Stanford Invitational
One of the first big marks during the day was in the Collegiate long jump, which saw junior Rayven Nealey move to ninth all-time at Nevada. Her mark of 5.91 meters was good enough to not only pass Brooke Wilson's 2000 record, but also won her the event.
Also in the event was senior Hanah Smrt, who ended the event fifth with her mark of 5.62m. Junior Maria Milani would earn a new personal best with her sixth-place distance of 5.61m. This beating her old personal best of 5.54m. Senior Nicola Ader competed in the Invite long jump, which saw the senior finish the meet in third with a distance of 6.09m.
The two other all-time marks saw Pack athletes finish in 10th. Senior Iesha Hamm finished the high jump with her mark of 1.75m. This good enough to tie the 10th Nevada all-time mark and finish the event in second. Ader also competed in this event and finished in third with a height of 1.70m.
Sophomore Sarah Marske would move on to the 100m hurdles finals at the Invitational, and finished the event in seventh with her time of 14.24. This time was .01 seconds faster than her personal best and makes her the sole 10th all-time mark at Nevada. Ader also moved on to the finals in this event, where the senior finished in fourth with a time of 13.84. Both athletes ran faster than their preliminary marks.
In the pole vault, multiple athletes were close to personal bests. Freshman Camrin Dolcini, the only vaulter to compete in the Invite, finished in sixth with a height of 3.60m. This mark only .01m below her personal best. In the Collegiate, sophomore Samantha Irwin finished with a mark of 3.30m. This also being just .01m away from her personal best.
