PALM DESERT, Calif. – The No. 45 Nevada men's golf team entered the final round in first but a two-over third round led to a second-place finish in the Wyoming Desert Intercollegiate at The Classic Club in Palm Desert, Calif.
The Pack finished 18 shots back of first-place Charlotte (-25), which shot 18 under with the lowest round of any team (270) to close the tournament. Nevada posted its highest round of the three days (290) but was one of two teams under-par for the 54-hole tournament. Hosts Wyoming (+1) finished tied with New Mexico State (+1) in third, and Long Beach State (+2) finished fifth to round out the top five.
"It was a good start to our spring schedule," said Head Coach
Jacob Wilner. "We are now heading to San Diego, taking a much-needed day of rest tomorrow, and then getting back at it Sunday for the Lamkin San Diego Classic on Monday."
Quim Vidal Mora led the way for much of the tournament for the Pack. Vidal Mora was in first after shooting six-under through two rounds. He finished with a one-over 73 to drop into a tie for 5th with a five-under score.

A.J. Lintunen at five-under. Lintunen shot a 72 during the final round to post a five-under score, including three birdies.
Peyton Callens finished tied for 20 after an even-par (72) third round to end his tournament one-over,
Tom Patterson finished two-over and tied for 29th, and
Connor Motherway, competing as an individual, finished tied for 99th (+16) after closing with a 77 today.
The Pack is back in action on Monday, Mar. 7 in the Lamkin San Diego Classic. 16 teams will participate in the two-day tournament hosted by San Diego State and the University of San Diego. The 54-hole tournament will feature 36 holes on Monday and 18 holes on Tuesday at the San Diego Country Club.
