Pack set for home conference play against Boise State

RENO, Nev. - Nevada and Boise State face each other for a three-game series to start conference play at Hixson Park.

WHAT'S ON THE AGENDA?
  • The Pack and the Broncos start the weekend with a game on Friday at 3 p.m., one on Saturday starting at noon, and the final game on Sunday with first pitch at noon as well.
  • All games of the series will be streamed live on the Mountain West Network. Watch in the app or visit TheMW.com/watch.

LAST TIME OUT
  • Nevada split the day in a doubleheader against Saint Mary's, on March 22 in Hixson Park.
  • The Pack won the first game 6-2, to lose the second one 0-3.
SCOUTING THE BRONCOS
  • The Broncos are led offensively by Kelsey Hall, who is batting .446 with 29 hits, 18 runs, 16 RBI, four stolen bases, four doubles, and seven home runs in 29 games. Alycia Flores also powers the squad with a .392 batting average with 38 hits, 22 runs, 19 RBI, two stolen bases, seven doubles, and three home runs.
  • Hannah Bailey leads the Broncos in the circle with an 9-1 record. Taylor Caudill has nine wins and three losses of her own for Boise State, followed by Sarah Johnson with six wins and one loss.  
NEVADA SPLITS AGAINST SAINT MARY'S
  • Sophomore Blake Craft took the win of the first game of the day for the Pack. Craft threw a complete game and is now 1-9 in the season. The sophomore gave up five hits, two runs (two earned), and struck out seven.
  • Offensively, the Pack recorded nine hits, and six RBIs. Senior Lauren Gutierrez led the Pack with one hit and three RBI. Freshman Tatum Maytorena recorded one run, two hits, and one RBI. While sophomore Chelie Senini recorded one run and two hits. Senior, Danielle Lew had one run and two hits of her own. While Aaliyah Jenkins and Jessica Sellers tallied one hit each, with Sellers scoring an RBI. Sophomore Sam Oliver tallied a single RBI after a grounded out.
  • Sophomore Tyra Clary took the loss for the Pack in game two. Clary played four innings, giving up four hits, one run (one earned), and struck out one. Freshman Ellie Garcia stepped in the circle to relief Clary. Garcia gave up four hits, two runs (one earned), and struck out three.
  • The Pack offense was led by freshman Bradianne Glover with one hit.
TOP OF THE RANKINGS
  • Chelie Senini has paced the Mountain West conference as well as the national rankings for stolen bases.
  • The sophomore is currently tied in first for most stolen games per game (0.96) in the nation.
  • Senini is also pacing the conference with 27 stolen bases in 27 attempts.
  • Senini leads the Pack offense, with an average of .323 in batting so far this season
  • The sophomore has recorded 31 hits, 22 runs, two double-base hit, one home run, and eight RBI.
JESSICA 'RBI' SELLERS
  • Jessica Sellers has been a key player for the squad recording 17 RBIs so far this season.
  • Sellers has also recorded 25 hits, six double-base hit, one three-base hit, and two home runs of her own.
  • The Reno native has appeared in the bases 86 times and has a hitting average of .291.
ELLIE 'K'
  • The pitching squad is led by freshman Ellie Garcia (5-5). Garcia has an ERA of 4.11 with 64 struck outs recorded. The freshman has started in 12 games so far this season.
  • The freshman played 5 innings on the 1-5 lost on March 18 in the game against UNLV, where she gave up four hits, five runs (three earned), while striking out eight.
  • During the 8-4 win on March 20, Garcia gave up five hits, four runs (four earned), while striking out four.
LAUREN GOATIERREZ
  • Lauren Gutierrez has started 16 games this season, and continues to be a key player for the Pack as well.
  • Gutierrez has a .350 batting average, with 14 hits, seven runs, 14 RBI, including four doubles this season.
HOME RUN CLUB
  • Alycia Coats has joined the home run club during the Cal Poly Tournament.
  • Coats scored a solo home run on the first game against Pacific on March 13.
  • Jenkins also recorded her fourth home run of the season against Pacific.
  • The freshman is currently leading the Pack with four home runs this season after scoring a solo home run against North Texas on Feb. 19, Weber State on Feb 24, and a 3 RBI against Utah Valley on Feb. 26.
  • Senini scored a solo RBI on the first game against Seton Hall on March 4. While Sanchez recorded hers during the second game against Idaho State on March 6.
  • Bella Kordonowy has also joined the club after recording a single home run against Utah Valley on Feb 25.
  • Jessica Sellers hit her first home run of the season during the Tracy Beard College Classic on Feb. 18-20.
  • Nevada has now 11 home runs this season, including Charli McLendon's hit against CSUN on Feb. 12.
