Nevada set for Mustang Classic Tournament

RENO, Nev. - Nevada heads to San Luis Obispo, Calif. for the Mustang Classic Tournament on March 12-13. 

WHAT'S ON THE AGENDA?
  • The Pack faces Pacific and Cal Poly twice throughout the weekend. 
  • The games against Pacific are set for 1:30 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m. on Sunday.
  • The Pack faces Cal Poly on Saturday at 4 p.m. and on Sunday 12:30 p.m.
  • All of Nevada's games against Cal Poly will be live-streamed.
  • Live stats for each game can be found at NevadaWolfPack.com.
LAST TIME OUT
  • Nevada finished the Libby Matson Tournament with a 2-3 record. 
  • The Pack recorded a win against Seton Hall (3-1) and one against Pacific (9-3).
UP NEXT
  • Following this tournament, the Pack will start conference play in Las Vegas, Nev. 
  • Nevada will face in-state rival UNLV on a three game series, March 18-20.
TOP OF THE MOUNTAIN WEST
  • Nevada leads the Mountain West in one individual statistics: stolen bases.
  • Chelie Senini paces the conference with 20 stolen bases in 20 attempts. 
HOME RUN CLUB
  • Chelie Senini and Gennah Sanchez have joined the home run club during the Libby Matson Tournament. 
  • Senini scored a solo RBI on the first game against Seton Hall, while Sanchez recorded hers during the second game against Idaho State. 
  • Aaliyah Jenkins is currently leading the Pack in home runs. The freshman has now three recorded, after scoring a solo home run against Weber State and a 3 RBI against Utah Valley at the Dixie State Tournament.
  • Bella Kordonowy has also joined the club after recording a single home run against Utah Valley on Feb 25. 
  • Jessica Sellers hit her first home run of the season during the Tracy Beard College Classic on Feb. 18-20.
  • Nevada has now nine home runs this season, including Charli McLendon's hit against CSUN on Feb. 12.
ON THE HUNT
  • Senini is on the hunt to break the school record for stolen bases.
  • The Reno native is currently sitting in second place, with 50 stolen bases so far in her collegiate career. 
  • The sophomore is behind another Reno native, Sadaria McAlister (2017-2021), who had 53 stolen bases in her career as a member of the Pack. 
JESSICA 'RBI' SELLERS
  • Jessica Sellers continues to lead the Pack offense.
  • The senior has been a key player for the squad recording 14 RBIs so far this season. 
  • Sellers has also recorded 21 hits, six double-base hit, and two home runs of her own. 
  • The Reno native has appeared in the bases 60 time and has a hitting average of .350.
ELLIE 'K'
  • The pitching squad is led by freshman Ellie Garcia (2-4). Garcia has an ERA of 4.06 with 44 struck outs recorded. The freshman has also started in eight games. 
  • At the Libby Matson Tournament, Garcia threw a complete game against Idaho State. The freshman held the game scoreless against the Bengals, leading to an extra-inning, where she gave up four hits and runs, while struck out eight. 
  • The game against the Bengals has been the second highest strike out number of the season for Garcia. On Feb. 18, against Montana, the freshman had nine struck outs during the game.
