RENO, NEV. – Three medals were awarded to Wolf Pack athletes during the Mountain West Indoor Championships last weekend, and those same athletes were selected to the MW All-Conference team. The three athletes being senior Nicola Ader, senior Iesha Hamm, and junior Rayven Nealey.
The first athlete on the All-Conference team is Nicola Ader, who won gold in the high jump with her mark of 1.81 meters. This is Ader's third year in a row being the MW high jump champion, dating back to the 2019 season. Her mark also scored the Pack 10 points out of the 40 the team finished with.
Ader also moved up on the Nevada all-time list during the Championships for the long jump. On the first day, Ader's distance of 5.98m moved her up to fourth all-time at Nevada. Her mark is also only .02m behind the second all-time mark that was set by Beck Krupa.
Also earning a spot on the All-Conference team is Iesha Hamm, who also earned a medal during the high jump. The senior earned a mark of 1.78m, which was good enough to earn her a bronze medal. She also earned six points for the team.
During the season, Hamm tied the school record in the indoor high jump with her mark of 1.83m. The senior set the record during the Don Kirby Elite Invitational. She now shares the record with Ader and La Tijera Avery.
The last athlete earning a spot on the All-Conference team is Rayven Nealey, who earned a bronze medal in the triple jump. Her mark of 12.65m was not only good enough for six team points, but also now is the Nevada indoor triple jump school record.
During the Championships, Nealey also earned two new personal bests. One being in the 60m dash, where the junior finished with a time of 7.70. The time being .03 seconds faster than her old mark. She also improved her long jump personal best mark from 5.56m to 5.69m.
This concludes the indoor season for Ader, Hamm, Nealey, and the rest of the Wolf Pack track team. The team will look to begin the outdoor season on Mar. 12 when they compete in the Aggie Open.
