RENO, Nev. – Nevada baseball head coach Jake McKinley announced its schedule for the 2023 campaign, Thursday.
Season ticket deposits are also available for $50, and can be made HERE. Fans who place a deposit will be contacted to pick out their season tickets for the 2023 season. Existing season ticket holders will be contacted about renewing their tickets in the coming weeks.
McKinley, entering his first season at the Wolf Pack helm, leads the team into a 2023 campaign which includes a 26-game home slate at Peccole Park, beginning with a four-game set against Hofstra (March 3-5).
"We think our schedule has a nice blend of challenging non-conference opponents, opportunities to play in some tough environments, and opportunities to bring great teams to Peccole in hopes to create great experiences for our student athletes and the Reno community," McKinley said.
McKinley, who spent the past four seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers and has more than a decade of collegiate coaching experience, was named Nevada's head baseball coach July 2.
The Pack returns a pitching staff headed by a pair of weekend starters in second-team All-Mountain West selection Kade Morris (7-5, 4.32 ERA, 53 Ks, three saves) and Peyton Stumbo (5-2, 55 Ks). The staff also benefits from the return of redshirt senior catcher Matt Clayton, who, in addition to being a key half of the Pack batteries, batted .273 with eight homers, 12 doubles, and 48 RBIs in 2022.
The Pack, which went 29-26 overall and 16-11 in Mountain West play last season, hosts home Mountain West series with UNLV (March 17-19), New Mexico (March 24-26), San José State (March 31-April 2), Air Force (April 14-16), and Fresno State (May 5-7). Additionally, Nevada will host midweek, non-conference games against Pacific (March 28), Sacramento State (April 25), and San Francisco (May 2), as well as a four-game weekend April 28-30 featuring two games apiece against Grand Canyon and Long Beach State.
Nevada's 2023 campaign opens with nine-straight on the road. The trip starts with four-game sets at Abilene Christian (Feb. 17-20) and Cal Baptist (Feb. 23-26), and closes with a midweek contest at Sacramento State (Feb. 28).
Following the home-opening series against Hofstra, the Pack plays six more on the road, sandwiching its first Mountain West series of 2023, a three-game series at Fresno State (March 10-12), with a midweek game at USC (March 8) and a two-game series at Oregon State (March 14-15).
In addition to the series in Fresno, the Pack's remaining Mountain West road slate includes trips to UNLV (April 6-8), San Diego State (April 21-23), New Mexico (May 12-14), and San José State (May 18-20).
The 2023 Mountain West Baseball Championship will be hosted by Fresno State from May 25-28.
