Los Angeles, Calif. - Dedeaux Field

WP: Andrew Johnson (5-2)
LP: Luke Schat (1-2)

LOS ANGELES - Nevada's bullpen could not hold No. 18 USC in Saturday's series finale, as the Trojans scored 10 runs over the sixth and seventh innings to erase a Wolf Pack lead and take a 12-4 win.

The Wolf Pack returns to Reno for the final weekend of the regular season May 14-16, hosting GCU Thursday through Saturday at Don Weir Field at Peccole Park.

Sean Yamaguchi, who went 2-for-4 with a solo homer and two RBIs, drove in Rominic Quiban to tie it up at 2-2 in the top of the sixth, then Mikey Cruz Jr. came in on a Trojan fielding error.

But the 3-2 lead was short-lived for Nevada (23-24). USC loaded the bases with one out against Wolf Pack reliever Luke Schat, and Maximo Martinez tied it up with an RBI single to center. Adrian Lopez brought Andrew Lamb across on a sacrifice fly to give USC a 4-3 lead.

The Trojans (41-12) blew the game open in the seventh. Kevin Takeuchi led it off with a double and came in on Augie Lopez's single. Jack Baseer then homered, and just like that the Trojans opened up a 7-4 lead. Walter Urbon and Adrian Lopez added homers, then Takeuchi came up for the second time in the frame and hit a solo homer to cap the eight-run innings.

Cruz hit his eighth home run of the season in the eighth, a solo shot which capped the game's scoring.

Schat fell to 1-2 with the loss, giving up three runs in an inning-plus of relief. Nevada starter Alessandro Castro gave up just two runs and struck out three over five innings in a productive outing.

For USC, Andrew Johnson improved to 5-2 with the win in relief, striking out five while working the sixth and seventh innings.
