RENO, Nev. - Nevada men's golf continues its 2021-22 campaign this weekend, traveling to compete in the Husky Invitational Sept. 20-21 at Gold Mountain Golf Club hosted by the University of Washington.
 
The Pack last competed in this event in 2019 and finished third (-9), after the second round was canceled due to rain. Prior to last season, Nevada finished second in the Husky Invitational in 2018. This marks the fourth appearance in the Husky Invitational for the Pack. 
 
Nevada will send five team-golfers to the event and one individual competitor, with the quintet of Quim Vidal Mora, A.J. Lintunen, Trey Davis, Peyton Callens, and Michael Sarro making up the team entry. Sean Minor will compete as an individual.

Vidal Mora and Lintunen will look to continue their strong play after finishing tied for 8th (-4) at the Gene Miranda Invitational. Vidal Mora posted rounds of 74, 70, 68 and Lintunen was solid with 72, 70, 70 over three rounds. The Wolf Pack looks to continue to produce as a team after rising from 5^th to finish 2^nd at the Gene Miranda Invitational last weekend.

The team competition will be played on the 6,772-yard, par-72 Gold Mountain Olympic Course, which is also the site of the 2021-22 Mountain West Conference Championships in April. Monday and Tuesday, golfers will play 36 holes continuously each day with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. PT.

"Gold Mountain is a world-class golf course and we have had success on it in the past. The field is fantastic and it's also a great opportunity to get valuable tournament experience on the same venue as our conference championship.", said Nevada men's golf coach Jacob Wilner.
 
Along with Nevada, the 16-team field includes host Washington, Washington State, Seattle U, Oregon, Oregon State, St. May's, Missouri, Long Beach State, San Jose State, San Diego State, Boise State, Idaho, Cal Poly, Southern Miss, and Toledo.
 
This weekend's event marks the second of 11 scheduled events for the Pack in 2021-22. The Wolf Pack, which has qualified for NCAA Regionals in each of the past three seasons, will break up its 11 events between five events in the fall and six, including the 2022 Mountain West Championship, in the spring.
