RENO, Nev. - Nevada women's golf opens its 2021-22 campaign this weekend, traveling to compete in the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational from Sept. 19-21 at the Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course hosted by Gonzaga University.

The Pack has competed in this event two times and this weekend will mark the first time since 2019. Nevada finished tied for third during the previous appearance.

Nevada will send five golfers to the event, with the quintet of Victoria Gailey, Danni Ujimori, Kaitlin Fleiner, Leah John, and Anitra Khoth making up the team entry.

The team competition will be played on the 6,051-yard, par-71 Coeur d'Alene Resort Golf Course. Sunday through Tuesday, golfers will play 18 holes each day with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. PT on Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday, the final round gets underway with a shotgun start at 7:45 a.m.

Live scoring for the event will be available at www.Golfstat.com.

"The team is excited to compete this weekend. We have had four weeks of solid practice to prepare. Our entire team returns, and with nine players, we have a lot more depth," said Nevada Head Women's Golf Coach Kathleen Takaishi

Coach Takaishi continued about an emerging senior. "Victoria (Gailey) is coming off a couple of good tournaments this fall which has given her a ton of confidence. Her last two qualifying rounds have been under par. It will be exciting to see her progress this year."

"Coeur d' Alene Resort Golf Course is beautiful and challenging. It will be a good test to see where we stand and what we need to work on moving forward."

Along with Nevada, the 21-team field includes host Gonzaga University, Creighton, Florida International, Gonzaga, Hawaii, Idaho, Long Beach State, North Dakota State, Oral Roberts, Portland State, Sacramento State, San Francisco, Santa Clara, Seattle, UC Irvine, Utah Valley, and Wyoming.

This weekend's event marks the first of 10 scheduled events for the Pack in 2021-22. The Wolf Pack will break up its 10 events between four events in the fall and six, including the 2022 Mountain West Championship, in the spring.
