RENO, Nev. -Â Nevada men's golf senior
Quim Vidal Mora captured the Northern Nevada Men's Amateur Championship Sunday, firing eight-under to best the field by four strokes at Toiyabe Golf Club.
Vidal Mora shot matching rounds of 68 over the two-day event, with Wolf Pack teammates
Mitch Abbott (-4),
A.J. Lintunen (-3),
Adam Thorp (-1), and
Peyton Callens (E) rounding out the top five.
Overall, the Wolf Pack had nine members of its roster finish among the top 11 of the final leaderboard.
Michael Sarro (sixth),
Connor Motherway (seventh),
Tom Patterson (10th), and
Sean Minor (T-11th) all found their names in the top half of the leaderboard.
"This was a great win for Quim, and a good event for our program," said Nevada men's golf head coach
Jacob Wilner. "To have nine players compete, and have them all finish in the top 11 is awesome.
It was a great way to kick off our qualifying as we prepare for Air Force and our fall season."
The Pack opens the 2021-22 campaign Sept. 10-12 at the Gene Miranda Invitational in Colorado Springs, Colo.
