Pack set to play 10-event schedule in 2021-22

RENO, Nev. – Nevada women's golf coach Kathleen Takaishi has announced the Wolf Pack's 10-event schedule for the 2021-22 season. The schedule will be broken up between four events in the fall and six in the spring.

The Wolf Pack will kick off the fall season Sept. 19-21 at an event it is familiar with, the Coeur d'Alene Collegiate Invitational in Idaho. Nevada has competed in this event twice and in back-to-back years in 2018 and 2019. During the 2019 event the Pack notched a third place finish, its best at this event. From there Nevada will close out the month of September at a new tournament, the Molly Collegiate Invitational. This event, which will be co-hosted by Cal and Oregon State, will be held at Bayonet Golf Course in Monterey, Calif.

Nevada will continue its fall season Oct. 8-10 at the Ron Moore Women's Intercollegiate at Highlands Ranch Golf Course in Denver, Colo. The Wolf Pack has participated in this event three times in its history, most recently in 2018. The fall season will conclude Oct. 18-19 at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic in Fort Collins, Colo. Historically this is the kick-off event of the season for Nevada as it had opened its fall schedule eight straight years at the Ptarmigan Ram Classic from 2011-18. The Pack's best finish during that stretch was a runner-up showing in 2018.

The spring season will commence Feb. 13-14 at the Rebel Beach Invitational in Las Vegas. This will mark the fifth consecutive season that the Pack will compete in this event. From there Nevada will head over the hill to Sacramento Feb. 28 through March 1 to participate in the Gunrock Invitational at Del Paso Country Club. Another familiar event, the Pack has played in this tournament the past three seasons, with a sixth place showing in 2019. Nevada will make its longest trip of the season March 7-8 as it heads to Ewa Beach, Hawai'i to compete in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational.

The Fresno State Classic awaits the Wolf Pack after it returns to the mainland on March 21-22. Nevada has competed in this event in five out of the last six years, but the tournament will have a new home in 2022 at Belmont Country Club in Fresno. The Pack won this event in 2017. Nevada will conclude the regular season April 4-5 at the Cowgirl Classic in Maricopa, Ariz. and Ak-Chin Southern Dunes Golf Course. The Pack will look to capture its first Mountain West Championship April 18-20 as it competes against its conference opponents at Mission Hills Country Club in Rancho Mirage, Calif.

At the conclusion of these 10 events, the Wolf Pack will see if it can qualify for NCAA Regionals for the first time since 2003.
