ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Nevada baseball team earned a doubleheader split against New Mexico on Saturday, falling 6-5 in 11 innings in game one, and earning a 9-7 win in game two.
Alejandro Murillo earned his first start of the season, and first start of his Division I career in game one on Saturday, and pitched extremely well. Murillo tossed 6.0 innings and surrendered just one earned run on six hits while striking out six in a no-decision. The Wolf Pack (7-9, 4-4 MW) took a two-run lead into both the bottom of the ninth and 10

Game two was also a back and forth affair in the later innings as the Pack scored four runs in the eighth to take a 7-5 lead, but New Mexico again found late inning magic to tie the game at 7-7. In just his second at-bat of the season though in the top of the ninth,

Hormel was 2-for-2 on the day with three RBI as he drove in those two runs in game two and also produced an RBI single in the top of the 10
