TUCSON, Ariz. – The Nevada men's golf team completed day one of the National Invitational Tournament and is currently in 15
th place.
The opening day of the tournament was scheduled for 36 holes of play but play in the second round was suspended due to darkness. The second round was nearly complete with eight of the 18 teams able to finish their second round. The Wolf Pack is currently 15
th out of the 18 teams and will conclude its second round tomorrow morning prior to teeing off in the final round. Nevada carded a 288 in round one and is currently 5-over par.
Sam Meek will head into Sunday tied for 38
th in the 104-player field. Meek has one hole left to finish in round two, but carded a 4-under 68 in the opening round. As it stands now, Meek has collected nine birdies between his almost two rounds of play.
Sam Harned is right behind Meek in a tie for 45
th. Harned fired a 2-under par 70 in the opening round and also has just one hole left to complete in round two.
Brendan MacDougall shot a 3-over 75 in his first round but is making up some ground in his second round as he is currently 2-over par and tied for 66
th place.
Tom Patterson also carded a 75 in round one, but is 8-over for the tournament as he will wrap up his second round tomorrow morning in a tie for 94
th.
Trey Davis is currently tied for 84
th after an opening round 76.
Adrien Dumont de Chassart of Illinois leads the individual field at 11-under par, one shot ahead of Brandon Shong of New Mexico.
