Nevada volleyball signs Gabby McLaughlin

Reno, Nev. - University of Nevada head volleyball coach Lee Nelson announced on Friday that 5'8" outside hitter Gabby McLaughlin (Windomar, Calif.) has signed a national letter of intent to join the Pack in the fall of 2022.

McLaughlin is currently a member of the Wave Volleyball Club out of San Diego, CA. This past summer McLaughlin led her Wave 17's team to a silver medal in the Open Division at the 2021 Junior Olympics, and was named to the 17-Open All-Tournament Team.

"Gabby is a remarkable person who caught our attention as much by how hard she plays as by her physical abilities." says head coach Lee Nelson, "Gabby will be one of the most well-rounded and pure volleyball players we have ever recruited to Nevada.  She plays with intelligence and consistency, never takes a play-off, and will be battling for a starting spot right away.  We can't wait for Gabbs to join us at Nevada."

The Windomar native was selected Captain, Scholar Athlete, MVP and received the Golden Bear Award in 2021 from her High School Team (Temecula Valley HS). McLaughlin was also named All-League in 2019 and 2021, and All Scholastic in 2021 in the Southwestern Conference.

McLaughlin chose Nevada over Long Beach State, San Jose State, LMU, Saint Mary's, and Princeton.
