Pack finishes third at Wolf Pack Classic

RENO, Nev. - Nevada's "Silver" team fired a collective two-under in Tuesday's final round at the Wolf Pack Classic, climbing to a top-three finish and ending up third at the 14-school, 15-team event at Hidden Valley Country Club.

Trey Davis paced the Pack with a seventh-place finish on the individual leaderboard, shooting an even-par 72 in the final round to finish the event at two-under (72-70-72=214). AJ Lintunen was Nevada's top golfer in the quintet, carding a one-under 71 to claim a top-25 finish at five-over (76-74-71=221).

As a team, Nevada's "Silver" team came in at 13-over (295-296-286=877), while the "Blue" team tied for 13th (307-301-295=903). New Mexico captured the team title at 14-under (284-285-281=850), and the Lobos' Albert Boneta took home medalist honors, and a PGA Tour exemption into the 2022 Barracuda Championship, with a six-under (70-71-69=210) for the tournament.

"I'd like to thank everyone in our community who helped put on a first-class event," said Nevada head coach Jacob Wilner. "Thank you to Hidden Valley and their staff, our title sponsor, Ryan Dolan and the Dolan Auto Group, Chris Hoff from the Barracuda Championship for his support of college golf and for offering up the PGA Tour exemption, The Row, for everything they do, not only for men's golf, but for Nevada Athletics, and Jim Bauserman and The Foundry. Congratulations to Glen Millican and the New Mexico Lobos."

Connor Motherway led Nevada's Blue team, finishing at six-over (70-75-77=222) for the tournament. Over the 11 Wolf Pack golfers competing, Quim Vidal Mora shot the team's final-round low, carding a 69 (-2) for his own tournament low. Mitchell Abbott, playing for the Blue team, was another Nevada golfer to record a par-or-better final round, finishing right on the mark at 72.

Nevada returns to action in two weeks, traveling to Maui for the Ka'Anapali Classic in Lahaina from Oct. 29-31.
