RENO, Nev. – Three members of the Nevada women's golf team have been honored as All-American Scholars by the Women's Golf Coaches Association (WGCA).

Leah John received the honor for the 2019-20 academic year. A total of 1,401 collegiate women golfers were recognized with this prestigious honor. The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar team are some of the most stringent in all of college athletics with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.50 needed. This is Gailey's second honor and the first for both Ujimori and John.
Ujimori, a marketing major with a cumulative GPA of 3.964, led the Pack with a 74.04 scoring average in her second season, which ranks third all-time at Nevada in a single season. She totaled a team-best 51 birdies in her seven events and collected two top 10 finishes and four top 15s. Her best finish of the year was a tie for seventh at the Harbottle Invitational where she finished at 2-over par, a season low. Additionally her six par or better rounds in her 21 rounds played tied for sixth-most in program history in a single season.
Gailey, a community health science major who holds a cumulative GPA of 3.958, posted a solid sophomore season despite the year being shortened. In 2019-20 Gailey produced a scoring average of 74.47, which ranked second on the team and seventh in a single season in program history. She recorded two top 15 finishes, including a third place showing at the Harbottle Invitational.
John, also a community health science major, compiled a GPA of 3.968 in her first year. She competed in six of the Wolf Pack's seven events during her rookie season and put together a scoring average of 76.23 in her 17 rounds played. John posted two top 30 finishes during the year and shot her season low round of a 1-under 71 at the Rebel Beach Invitational.
These three honorees from Nevada are among 36 to earn the distinction from around the Mountain West. New Mexico and Wyoming led the way with six selections each.
