RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's golf team is gearing up for its third event of the spring season as it will compete in the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational starting on Tuesday.
 
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will begin on Tuesday with the first 36 holes and conclude Wednesday with the final 18. The event will be played at Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course in Kane'ohe, O'ahu and be played at a par 72 and 6,099 yards. The Wolf Pack has competed in this event in the past, but this will be its first time participating since 2015.
 
The Wolf Pack will send its same lineup of five as the team's last event, the Gunrock Invitational, where it finished seventh. Freshman Leah John will join sophomores Danni Ujimori and Victoria Gailey and seniors Katy Rutherford and Jenny Krause in the lineup this week in Hawai'i. In the Pack's two spring events thus far it's been Ujimori who has posted the top Nevada finishes in each event. She has recorded two top 15 finishes this spring to give her four in total for the entire season.
 
The field features 16 teams and is one of the largest that the Wolf Pack will compete in this season. Nevada will not have to deal with the defending co-champions of this event as Texas A&M and SMU are both not entered. With the Mountain West Championship looming next month, the Wolf Pack will get to see where it stacks up against the defending conference champs in San Diego State this week.
