RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's golf team is back in action early next week at the Gunrock Invitational, hosted by UC Davis.
 
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will be held at Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento, Calif. beginning on Monday. The event will conclude Tuesday with the final 18 holes. Del Paso Country Club has been the site of a number of major professional tournaments including the 1957 U.S. Women's Amateur, 1964 U.S. Senior Women's Amateur, 1976 U.S. Women's Amateur, 1982 U.S. Women's Open and 2015 U.S. Senior Open.
 
This marks the Wolf Pack's second consecutive appearance in this event as it earned a sixth place finish a year ago. Sophomore Victoria Gailey led Nevada in this event last year, placing inside the top 15. Gailey will be entered into the event once again this year, along with seniors Katy Rutherford and Jenny Krause, sophomore Danni Ujimori and freshman Leah John. In Nevada's spring season debut a couple of weeks back at the Rebel Beach Invitational, it was led by Ujimori, who earned a tie for 14^th place to notch her third top 15 of the season.
 
The field this year features 13 teams, but only 12 of which will have scores counted towards the team title. Stanford will compete in the event, but with individuals only. Along with Nevada, New Mexico will also be representing the Mountain West in Sacramento.
