RENO, Nev. – Dario Gomez, an outfielder currently at Delta College, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play for the Nevada baseball team next season. He becomes the 13th addition of the 2021 class for the Wolf Pack.
Originally from Oakley, Calif., Gomez is currently a sophomore having a fantastic year for the Mustangs. In 11 games so far, he has compiled 22 hits with nine RBI in 51 at-bats with only two strikeouts. He has smacked eight doubles and stolen 14 bases with a .431 batting average.
In his career, he has slashed .364 at Delta with a .448 slugging percentage and 20 RBI. Defensively, he boasts a .989 career fielding percentage, only committing one error in 92 total chances.
Gomez can add depth to the Pack's outfield following the 2020 season, with current seniors Jaylon McLaughlin and Kiambu Fentress currently in their final years of eligibility.
Nevada will travel to Eugene, Ore. this weekend to face the Ducks in a three-game series. The first game is slated for Friday, Feb. 21 at 4 p.m. with the final two games on Saturday and Sunday set for 1 p.m.
