RENO, Nev. – The Nevada women's basketball looks to remain perfect on the season and will take a 3-0 record into two games this weekend and into early next week.
The Wolf Pack will host Fresno Pacific at Lawlor Events Center this Friday, Dec. 18 at 1 p.m. and then travel to Moraga, Calif. on Monday for a 1 p.m. contest at Saint Mary's.
Nevada is 3-0 to start the season for a second consecutive year after defeating William Jessup in the season opener and then scoring two road victories at Sacramento State last weekend.
The Wolf Pack received some good news on Wednesday with the NCAA's announcement of a blanket waiver for all NCAA basketball transfers sitting a year in residency now being immediately eligible to play in the 2020-21 season. Junior transfer
Megan Ormiston and sophomore transfer
Bethany Carstens are now eligible to suit up for the Pack this weekend.

20 POINT OUTBURST
On Saturday in the first game of the two-game series at Sacramento State, newcomer
Eliska Stebetakova posted a breakout game in just her second Division I contest. The Czech Republic native notched 20 points to record the first 20-point game of the season for the Wolf Pack. Stebetakova was lights out from the field, connecting on 10-of-13 shot attempts. She also added six rebounds, two blocks and a steal to an impressive outing.
ROOKIE PROWESS
Just three games into the 2020-21 season, Nevada has already seen some key contributions from some of its rookies. Reno native
Kenna Holt has impressed with her tenacious defense and keen eye on the court. In three games Holt leads Nevada with 10 steals and is tied for the team lead with 14 assists. She is averaging 3.3 steals per game, second-best in the Mountain West and in the top 35 nationally.
Lexie Givens has seen a fair amount of playing time as well and posted her best game so far in the second contest at Sacramento State where she scored six points and grabbed six rebounds in a season-high 18 minutes on the court.
Gabby Rones made her collegiate debut in her hometown of Sacramento, playing in both games at Sacramento State. In the second game she scored her first collegiate points, hitting a jumper with the shot clock about to expire.
WILD, WILD, WEST
Amaya West is off to a solid and consistent start in her junior season as the only Wolf Pack player to score in double figures in all three games so far. West tallied a season-best 14 points in the first game at Sacramento State and added a season-high nine rebounds, one rebound shy of posting the first double-double of her career. Heading into this weekend, West leads the Pack averaging 6.7 rebounds per game. She was named the Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week following the two-game series at Sacramento State where she led Nevada in points per game and rebounds per game.
CONFERENCE PLAY CHANGES
The Mountain West schedule will look slightly different this season than it has in the past. The conference schedule will go from 18 games to 20 games with Nevada playing each team in the league twice. In order to cut down on travel, the conference office announced that teams would play one another in a two-game series within a three-day time span in the same city. Nevada's first set of Mountain West games was scheduled to be played Dec. 4 & 6 at Air Force, but both games were postponed due to positive COVID-19 tests in the Air Force program. No make up date has been announced yet for those two contests. Nevada's next set of scheduled conference games is Dec. 31 and Jan. 2 at home against New Mexico.
UP NEXT: FRESNO PACIFIC
Nevada will return to action Dec. 31 and Jan. 2 when it opens up Mountain West action with two games at home against New Mexico.
