RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada women's tennis team under the direction of head coach
Guillaume Tonelli will begin play at the Cal Fall Invitational this weekend in Berkely, Calif. The invitational is the first of three fall weekends of play for the Wolf Pack.
Cal, BYU, Cal Poly, UC Davis, Fresno State, Pacific, Sacramento State, Saint Mary's, Santa Clara, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, San Diego and San Francisco along with Nevada will be competing this weekend. The Hellman Tennis Complex on the Cal campus and the Channing Tennis Courts located a few blocks from campus will be the facilities used for the event.
The Pack welcome back three veterans from last year and have added five freshmen for the 2019-20 season. Junior
Anastaysha Gorbacheva and sophomores
Selina Turulja and
Roos Van Reek are back this season. The five freshman are
Liza Mintusova,
Carla Del Barrio,
Arina Gumerova,
Anastasia Luneva and
Ksenia Shikanova.
Turulja led the Pack with 13 singles victories last year posting a record of 13-10 and was 14-14 in doubles action. Gorbacheva reached double figures going 10-6 in singles and 9-12 in doubles action. Van Reek posted an 8-6 record in singles action and was 12-4 in doubles.

Ksenia Shikanova come to the Wolf Pack from Russia to begin their collegiate careers. Del Barrio is from Vigo, Spain.
