Box Score RENO, Nev. - Nevada Women's Tennis hosted San Diego State in its final match of the weekend, falling to the Aztecs, 4-2.
It was a tough battle from the beginning as each team took a match.
Kennedy Robinson and
Kariman Buqai fell to Gloria Alogo and Liisa Varul, 6-3, giving the Aztecs the advantage.Â
Nevada tied it up after
Silvia-Maria Costache and
Marlene Foerster defeated Jo-Yee Chan and Vessa Turley, 6-3. The final doubles match went to a tiebreaker, with Amahée Charrier and
Petra Janigova clinching the point over Ninon Martinache and Jayna Clemens, 7-6.Â
Charrier put the Pack up 2-0 after defeating Jo-Yee, 6-3, 6-1. Despite Nevada being ahead, San Diego State scored the next four straight points. Robinson fell to Vesa Gjinaj, 6-3, 6-1, followed by Janigova falling to Teja Tirunelveli, 6-2, 7-6. Varul clinched the match for SDSU after defeating
Wiem Boubaker, 7-6, 6-3.
Nevada will have a week before hosting its final home match of the season on Friday, taking on Fresno State at 12 p.m.
