RENO, Nev. – For the first time since 2011, the Nevada men's golf team will host a tournament in Reno with Monday's Wolf Pack Shootout at Montreux Country Club.
The Wolf Pack Shootout, a one-day, 36-hole event will be held this Monday, Sept. 23 from Montreux Country Club in south Reno. Scoring for the tournament will work the same as any other tournament, with a 5-count-4 format, however there will be only two teams competing. Nevada will square off against Pac-12 foe Oregon State in the one-day event.
Nevada and Oregon State will both play five of its student-athletes as part of its official team lineup, but four individuals will tee it up as well for the Pack. All nine of the Wolf Pack golfers on this year's roster will compete, with five competing as part of the team and the remaining three teeing it up as individuals. The Nevada lineup will consist of seniors
Sam Harned,
Sam Meek and
Tony Gil, and newcomers
Cam Kellett and
Griffin Cooper. Sophomores
Peyton Callens and
Trey Davis, redshirt freshman
Mitch Abbott and freshman
Connor Motherway will all compete as individuals.
