Nevada wraps up nonconference play against UC Davis on Saturday

Match slated for 6 p.m.

RENO, Nev. – Heading into its final nonconference match of the season, Nevada (1-5) is set to host UC Davis (4-3) this Saturday at 6 p.m. in Mackay Stadium. The Wolf Pack is currently on a three-game winning streak against the Aggies, with its most recent victory coming last season in a 2-1 win in Davis, Calif.

The Aggies are off to a good start to the year, posting a 4-3 record to start the season. UC Davis has scored 11 goals on the year while only allowing seven.

Each team has allowed seven goals on the season, but the Pack has only surrendered more than one in a single match one time this year. Casey Palmer and Leslie Fregoso each lead the Aggies with seven points after accumulating three goals and assist each. Mahlah Catline leads the team with 17 shots on the year, while Palmer has 10 shots on goal in only 232 minutes.

The Aggies have rotated between two goalkeepers this season, each with two wins on the year. Nicki Rucki boasted 0.67 goals against average, while Jessica Lima has started three matches and allowed four goals with a 1.60 goals against average for the year.

The Nevada offense has created plenty of opportunities for itself this season, with 21 corner kicks and 66 shots on the season. Of those shots, 28 of them have gone on goal.

The Pack is still led by Gabby Brown's 19 shots on the year, which are the seventh-most in the Mountain West and her 4.75 per game rank as the second most in the conference. Goalkeeper Kendal Stovall has helped keep Nevada in every game this season, and ranks second in the conference with 33 saves and is 66th in the nation with a .825 save percentage.
