WOLF PACK OPENS CONFERENCE PLAY AT SAN DIEGO STATE

Nevada will head to San Diego State this weekend to open conference play against the Aztecs ... Following that three-game series, the Wolf Pack will travel to take on 8-2 UC Santa Barbara ... All three contests at SDSU will be live streamed on the Mountain West Network ... Doug Greenwald (Fri.), Jamie Holloway (Sat.) and Ghizal Hasan (Sun.) will have the call over the weekend for Nevada on 94.1 FM/1450 AM ... Hasan will also call the Pack's battle at UCSB ... Since joining the Mountain West in 2016, head coach T.J. Bruce boasted the most conference victories entering this year with 53 ... The Pack will begin its Mountain West regular-season title defense in San Diego this weekend when it is hosted by the Aztecs who are 5-6 on the year ... SDSU has lost its last four games, including two against No. 14/11 ranked Texas Tech ... The Aztecs rank third in the conference with a .284 batting average, while the Wolf Pack is slashing .261 this season ... Nevada boasts the best team ERA in the conference at 3.01, while San Diego State ranks fourth with a 4.78 mark ... The last time these two teams played was in 2018, when Nevada took two of three games from SDSU in the final home series of the season to secure its second Mountain West regular season championship in four years ... The Aztecs have only hit two home runs this season, both coming from the bat of Julian Escobedo while Nevada has smacked 10 and only surrendered six ... Ryan Anderson will pitch on Friday for the Wolf Pack against SDSU's Justin Goossen-Brown ... Sharts will stick with his Saturday spot, going up against RHP Harrison Pyatt of the Aztecs ... Both teams have yet to announce their Sunday Starters ... No starters have been announced yet for Nevada's contest at UCSB, who the Pack has not faced since 2017 where the Gauchos won 10-3 ... UCSB has won six games in a row entering this weekend, as it prepares for a three-game series with Tulane before hosting Nevada for a Tuesday midweek contest ... UCSB has only committed four errors all season.
