Brown selected to All-Mountain West Newcomer team

Led MW in total shots

RENO, Nev. – Freshman forward Gabby Brown has been named to the All-Mountain West Newcomer team after leading the conference with 50 shots in MW play this season. She also tallied three goals and an assist to lead Nevada with seven points in conference play.

This is the second year in a row that Nevada has had freshmen named to the All-MW Newcomer team, after Kylie Minamishin and Kendal Stovall were named to it last season. Prior to last year, Nevada never had a player selected to the All-MW Newcomer team, and has now had three in two seasons.

Brown finished with 75 shots on the season, the most in a single season by a Wolf Pack player. In her first collegiate match against Eastern Washington, she set a program record with 10 shots in a single match.

Aside from leading the conference in shots in MW play, she ranked 11th in the nation averaging 4.69 shots per match. She served as the biggest offensive threat in the Silver & Blue, leading Nevada with
75 shots, 26 shots on goal, four goals and tied the team high with two assists.

Her biggest goal of the season was her game-winner against Utah State when she scored in double-overtime to lift Nevada to its first conference victory of the season. Her 12 shots that game are now the most in a single match by a Wolf Pack player.
