ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Nevada softball team fell to the Montana Grizzlies on Sunday by a score of 16-3. With the loss, the Wolf Pack's seven-game winning streak is snapped as the team moves to 10-10 on the year.
 
Errors proved costly for the Pack, committing a total of four against the Grizzlies (5-13). On the day, Nevada's high-octane offense was led by both senior Erika Hansen and sophomore Kenzi Goins, who each went 2-for-2 in the game, as both were responsible for all three of Nevada's runs. Hansen launched her sixth home run of the season and third of weekend.
 
The game remained tight for the opening two innings, as the Pack responded quickly to Grizzlies' run in the top of the first with a run of its own. After Goins recorded Nevada's first hit of the contest, Hansen doubled her home with a shot to left field that tied the score at one.
 
Following a scoreless second inning, Montana came out to score 11 unanswered runs, including 10 in the fourth to take a commanding 12-1 lead. Nevada did its best to trim the lead, after Hansen's two-run home run but the deficit proved to be too much to overcome after the Grizzlies tacked on four more runs in the fifth and took the 16-3 victory.
 
The Pack will be back on the field for its final tournament before conference play when the team travels to Davis, Calif. to compete in the UC Davis Tournament March 8-10.
