Biography

2020 (Sr. *Season shorted due to COVID-19) – Continued to serve as the starting catcher for the Pack with 20 starts behind the plate … Recorded two multi-hit games and one multi-RBI game on the season … Had a career weekend in the Malihini Kipa Aloha Tournament where she went 5-for-12 at the plate with two solo home runs and 11 total bases … In the contest against Hawai`i, posted a career high three hits and six total bases and against Oregon State had a season high 12 putouts behind the plate … Finished the year with a perfect fielding percentage with 101 putouts.

2019 (Jr.) – Was the primary catcher for the Pack, behind the plate in all 53 games started ... Matched her career high in putouts in a single game (15) at New Mexico … Bested her previous season career highs with a .261 batting average and 37 hits … Registered seven multi-hit games and one multi-RBI game … Went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored in the first game of the Montana series … Had her best offensive Mountain West game against San Diego State where she went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored … Was behind the plate for 15 strikeouts against New Mexico, a season high number of putouts … Committed just three errors on the season, a team high .991 fielding percentage while being ranked seventh in the Mountain West … Assisted getting Nevada to postseason play for the third year in row … Letter winner.

2018 (So.) – Served as the Pack’s everyday catcher, making 48 starts at the position, where she recorded an all-around career year … Committed just three errors on the season, having posted a .988 fielding percentage, which was 14th-best in the conference … Ranked ninth in the Mountain West with her team and career-high 235 putouts on the season … Set single-game career highs in putouts (15) and assists (4) … Also set single-season career highs in nearly every major offensive category including batting average (.248), hits (31), RBIs (19) and runs scored (12) … Put together the best hitting stretch of her career, having hit safely in 14 out of 17 games from March 24 – May 5, where she batted .346 during that span … Launched the first grand slam of her career in the Pack’s win over Southern Utah, recording a career-best four RBIs in the process … Tied her career-high with two hits against perennial national power LSU, as her two-RBI double helped the Pack jump out to an early 2-0 lead against the Tigers … Capped off Nevada’s 13-run third inning against New Mexico with a bases-clearing double in route to a 21-run outburst and a series win … Helped Nevada make back-to-back postseason appearances since the 2008-09 seasons … Letter winner. 

2017 (Fr.) – Appeared in 47 games for Nevada making 37 starts at catcher … Finished the year with 199 putouts, ranking second-most on the team … Committed just two errors on the year, finishing as one of the best defensive players in the conference with a fielding percentage of .991, which ranked 11th in the Mountain West … Ranked ninth in the conference with seven runners caught stealing … Went 6-for-9 (.667) at the Nevada Classic, recording at least one hit in all four games … Batted .455 (5-for-11) against San Diego State, where she launched her first home run of her career … Recorded a career-high two RBIs in the Pack’s win over UNLV … Logged her first career hit in a victory over Rhode Island … Helped lead Nevada to its first postseason berth since the 2009 season ... Letter winner. 

HIGH SCHOOL – Attended Martin Luther King High School in Riverside, Calif. where she played under coach Lucinda Brewer … Member of PAWSS special ed club where she would help special needs peers at her school.

PERSONAL – Daughter of Debbie and John Burda … Has two older siblings, Larissa and Matthew … Is majoring in criminal justice and plans to become a criminal investigator … Chose Nevada because when she visited she fell in love with the campus and the coaches seemed like people she would want to play for … Also recruited by Boise State, UNLV, Midland College, Kennesaw State, Lindenwood, and Texas Permian Basin … Lists Jennie Finch as her sports hero … The most memorable moment of her career was with her travel ball team playing in Las Vegas to qualify for PFG and her team faced elimination and extended their stay for four more games … Enjoys working for her dad and going to the beach in her free time.
