Biography

2021 (Sr.) – Returned for a fifth year, starting at second base in all 40 contests … compiled 35 hits, 22 RBI, seven stolen bases, four home runs and two doubles while batting .285 … registered eight multi-hit games … tallied a season-high three hits twice against Sacramento State and Pacific … tallied a .981 fielding percentage with 80 assists and 79 putouts … was a part of eight double plays … went 2-for-4 with one run and an RBI in her final collegiate game against Boise State … had four multi-RBI games … Letterwinner.

2020 (Sr. *Season shorted due to COVID-19) – Returned to the diamond as the starting second baseman where she started all 24 contests … Was a consistent force at the plate where she had a team high 11 multi-hit games and recorded at least one hit in 20 of the 24 contests on the year … She finished the year batting a .429 which ranked her second in the Mountain West and 77th in the NCAA … Ended with 33 hits which ranked her second in the Mountain West and 31st in the NCAA … Ranked first on the team in batting average, hits, runs, triples, total bases and hit by pitch while second on the team in at bats, tied for second in doubles and tied for second in stolen bases … Was apart of seven double plays on the year defensively, and registered 58 putouts with 48 assists … Named to the Puerto Vallarta College Challenge All-Tournament Team after her performance in Mexico, she went 2-for-2 against No. 3 Oklahoma with a run scored and a triple … In the final performance of the season, went 3-for-3 against Sacramento State with two runs scored, two RBI and a double.  

2019 (Jr.) – One of just three players to start in all 56 contests on the season … Played 54 of the games at second base with one lone start at third and another as the designated player … Hit in the leadoff spot in 49 games … Had 16 multi-hit games and five multi-RBI games … Finished the 2019 season on a five game hitting streak and a five game reach base streak … Started the season off going 5-for-5 against CBU with two runs scored and a double … Kept her momentum going in the first game against Marist, knocking two triples and scoring three runs … Assisted the Pack in the win over nationally-ranked Colorado State, going 2-for-3 with two runs scored and a double hit … In the series finale with San Jose State, went 1-for-3 but hit a triple and scored on a bad throw to lift the Pack over the Spartans … Was named to the NISC Nevada Regional All-Tournament team after scoring four runs and going 6-for-13 on the weekend … Letter winner.  

2018 (So.) – Earned her first All-Conference accolade after leading the Wolf Pack with her .429 batting average during league play that ranked fourth in the Mountain West … Finished the regular season on an absolute tear, hitting safely in eight of her final nine games, while batting .615 with three three-hit performances to go along with 10 runs scored during that stretch … Held one of the best on-base percentages in the conference, as her .467 clip ranked seventh in the MW … Recorded three perfect outings at the plate in which she collected at least three hits in each performance … Collected a career-high four hits in the Pack’s win over intrastate rival UNLV … Helped lead Nevada to a series win over reigning MW Champion San José State, batting .600 with a home run and a pair of doubles in the series … Scored both of Nevada’s runs in the Pack’s 2-1 win over Northern Colorado … Went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored, along with the second homer of her career in Nevada’s first win over Southern Utah … Tied a career-high six assists in the Pack’s second matchup of the season against Seattle U … Helped Nevada make back-to-back postseason appearances since the 2008-09 seasons … Letter winner.

2017 (Fr.) – Served as the team’s second baseman for 35 games before being sidelined with a season-ending injury … Ranked third on the team with 24 runs scored and 14 walks prior to her injury … Began her Wolf Pack career recording a hit in her first five games … Became one of the toughest batters to strikeout in the Pack’s lineup, striking out just nine times on the year … Recorded a stretch where she collected at least one base hit in nine of 10 games, batting .387 (12-for-31) during that span … Crossed the plate a career-high three times against Rhode Island … Posted a career-high two hits six times … Helped lead Nevada to the program’s first postseason berth since the 2009 season ... Letterwinner. 

HIGH SCHOOL – Attended James Logan High School in Union City, Calif. … hit .458 with three home runs, three triples and 40 runs scored in her junior year at James Logan HS … Named first-team All-Mission Valley League at shortstop for her stellar season … Also tabbed as a first-team All-League selection as a sophomore at Tennyson HS … Slugged .662 with a .567 on-base percentage as a sophomore at Tennyson … Hit .458 with three home runs, three triples and 40 runs scored.

PERSONAL – Daughter of Joseph and Stacy Mello … Has four siblings, an older sister, Eliana, two younger brothers, Joseph Jr. and Joaquin, and a younger sister, Akaila … Is studying Communications … Chose Nevada because of the great academics and great softball program … Lists the most memorable moments of her career as her recruiting experience with Nevada and having coaches who believe in her.
