Box Score SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Playing on a neutral court, Nevada (7-2) earned a dominant 7-0 victory over Eastern Washington (6-5) on Sunday afternoon in Sacramento. In doing so, the Wolf Pack got back on track after a two-match losing streak.
The afternoon began with the Pack doing what it has done all season, winning the doubles point. Nevada has earned the point in eight of its nine matches this spring.
Robert Margitfalvi and
Jeremy Merville moved to 8-1 on the year as a tandem with a 6-2 victory on court No. 2 over Victor Periera and Jeremy Field. Sophomores Kostya
Nesterenko and
Julien Evrard secured the point on court No. 1, besting Flavian Raveau and Scott Paz 6-4.
Nevada swept the singles matches on the day, beginning with
Augustin Delahodde picking up a victory on court No. 5 to give him a team-high six singles victories this season. Evrard gave the Pack a 3-0 lead notching his third victory this spring on court No. 1 by defeating Paz 6-1, 6-2.
Margitfalvi clinched the match by taking down Raveau 6-2, 6-1 on court No. 3. Merville, Nesterenko, and O'Donovan wrapped up the day with victories of their own to end Nevada's afternoon with a 7-0 victory.
The Pack will be back in action next weekend, returning to Sacramento State to play in the Golden State Invitational.
