Nevada travels to Boise State in dual meet action

RENO, Nev. - The Nevada swim and dive team is back in action and on the road in a dual contest against Boise State in Boise, Idaho. Competition is set to begin on Saturday, December 8 at 10 a.m. PT. This meet will feature both the swimmers and divers, the third time this year both have competed in the same meet.

The Pack is coming off of a two week break that last saw a fourth place overall finish at the Phill Hansel Invitational, hosted by the University of Houston. The team recorded 863 points and finished just behind New Mexico and Rice with Houston taking the title.

During the Phill Hansel Invitational, the 200-yard free relay (Jamie Reynolds, Rebecca Murray, Caitlyn Richardson and Andressa Cholodovskis) posted a new school record, a record that had been standing since 1999. Along with the 200 free relay school record, the team posted several personal bests and season bests.

Boise State also had two weeks off after their mid-season invitational meets. The swimmers went to College Station, Texas for the Art Adamson Invite while the divers went to the Mizzou Invite. Overall the swim team placed third, behind Texas A&M and LSU and the divers finished fifth.

The Pack and Broncos are 4-4 in dual meets, with this being the ninth match up in that format. Last time these two met was in the 2018 Mountain West Championships where Boise State recorded 1,250 points versus Nevada with 1033.5. In the dual format, last season, the Broncos visited Reno and took the victory with 163-137 point difference.

Boise State is currently holding a 23 home dual meet win streak dating back to 2009, however Nevada is 2-0 in road dual meets this season, with wins over UC Davis and fellow Mountain West opponent, Fresno State.

Following this meet the Pack will break for semester and return to action on January 5, 2019 when they compete in the San Diego Shootout.
