Women’s tennis adds Gumerova

Freshman joins Wolf Pack

RENO, Nev.  – Nevada women's tennis head coach Guillaume Tonelli has signed freshman Arina Gumerova to a national letter of intent.

Gumerova will begin her freshman year in the fall of 2019, after several strong years of competition in Bashkortostan, Russia. Gumerova earned championships in her hometown of Ufa, as well as Sochi, Kazan, Orenburg, Mordovia, and competed for Bashkortostan from 2013-18.

"Arina is coming to us from Ufa, Russia. She has been very successful in the juniors, and will be adding great depth to the team," said Tonelli. "She has substantial international experience, and she will be helping us right away after arriving in Reno. We are very happy to have Arina join our team, she will definitely be a great asset to us."

The Wolf Pack concluded its fall tournament schedule in November, and will be back in action on Jan. 18 to begin the spring season with a match at the UC San Diego Tritons.
