Wolf Pack returns home to continue Mountain West play

Set to face San Jose State and Fresno State

RENO, Nev. – Coming off its first conference victory of the season at Air Force, Nevada (4-6-2, 1-3 MW) welcomes Mountain West opponents San Jose State (4-5-2, 3-1 MW) on Friday at 6:30 p.m. and Fresno State (2-8-2, 1-2-1 MW) at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Mackay Stadium. Nevada's last home conference victory came against the Bulldogs in 2016.

Last Friday's 1-0 victory against the Falcons was the first MW win in head coach Erin Otagaki's tenure with the Pack.

In that contest, freshman goalkeeper Kendal Stovall posted her third-career shutout with six saves including stopping a penalty kick in the first half. She now sits with 27 saves and an .871 save percentage in conference play, good for first and second in the MW respectively.

Nevada has only played one match in Mackay Stadium this season, a 1-1 tie against Hawai'i where the Pack rallied back thanks to a goal in the 66th minute by Kathryn Yarbrough. In two home matches, the Silver & Blue is 1-0-1 with two goals scored and only one allowed.

The Spartans, coming to Reno Friday night will have a tough task ahead of them going up against Stovall. SJSU has only scored six goals this season, but have also only allowed eight thanks in large part to Paige Simoneau who boasts a conference-best 0.67 goals against average on the year.

Fresno State comes into the weekend with only two wins under its belt, and has allowed 19 goals on the season compared to Nevada's 12. The Bulldogs have only shut out one opponent this season, so the Pack will look to take advantage with its young offensive core of freshmen.

Payton Lieb is still tops on the team with three goals and 21 shots. Sophomore midfielder Hannah Souza has proven to be a great facilitator this season, leading Nevada with two assists on the year.

Both matches will be broadcast live on the Mountain West Network. Live stats will also be available for each contest.

Friday's match against the Spartans will be a white out game, where the first 100 fans in attendance will receive a free shirt!
