HENDERSON, Nev. – After two of three rounds at the Las Vegas Collegiate Showdown, the Nevada women's golf team finds itself tied for ninth place.
The Wolf Pack began the day in 11
th and used an identical score of 292 from round one in the second round to jump a couple of spots on the leaderboard. Nevada is tied with Big Ten member Nebraska for ninth at 8-over par for the tournament. No. 29 Oregon State continues to lead and will take a two shot lead over Tulsa into Tuesday's final round.
Freshman
Victoria Gailey led the Pack again in the second round, carding another 1-under 71. She birdied holes 11 and 13 and had only one hiccup during her round, a bogey on No. 17. Combined with her 71 from yesterday's first round, Gailey sits at 2-under for the tournament in a tie for 16
th place in the 90-player field. She is seven shots behind Ellie Slama of Oregon State for the individual lead.
Junior
Jenny Krause jumped a number of spots on the leaderboard into a tie for 33
rd thanks to an even par 72 on Monday. Krause made 14 pars during her round to go along with two birdies and two bogeys. She sits at 2-over par for the tournament. Freshman
Kate Choi notched a 2-over 74 on the day, her best round of the week so far, and is tied for 55
th place. Choi played a perfect back nine with nine pars and added six more pars on the front side. Senior
Chaithra Katamneni and junior
Katy Rutherford both posted rounds of 75 for their second rounds. Katamneni enters the final round tied for 40
th, while Rutherford has sole possession of 67
th.
