Wolf Pack returns to Mackay Stadium for two matches this weekend

First home conference matches of the season

RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada women's soccer team (1-9-0, 0-2-0 MW) returns home to Reno to face conference foes Air Force (4-4-1, 1-0-1 MW) and Colorado College (3-4-3, 0-1-1 MW) in Mackay Stadium this weekend. The Wolf Pack's match against the Falcons will be on Friday at 6:30 p.m., while its bout with Colorado College will be Sunday at 12 p.m.

"We're excited to finally be back in Mackay Stadium in front of our home crowd," said head coach Erin Otagki. "The team definitely feeds off the energy the crowd provides. We play two quality opponents this weekend so we need to come out firing on all cylinders."

The Wolf Pack played at San Diego State and New Mexico this past weekend, losing a close 1-0 match to the Lobos on Sunday. Nevada exhibited tremendous effort, particularly goalkeeper Lauryn Horstdaniel who recorded eight saves but ultimately fell short in what was a nail-biter all the way through.

Freshman Rachel Gensch leads the Wolf Pack with two goals on the season and has recorded six shots on goal, tied with Lauren Woodyard for most on the year. Freshman Tiana Ono has recorded 701 minutes playing both defense and midfield for the Pack, and fellow freshman Rylie West has played 575 minutes at both midfield and forward. Junior Rylee Peterson currently leads Nevada with 15 shots this season and two assists.

Air Force comes in averaging 15.2 shots per game, as the Pack will look to veteran defenders Mackenzie Robinson, Bryanna Wiehe and Katie Prosser to stifle the Falcons' attack. Colorado College has scored eleven goals on the year and has only allowed one in Mountain West play, so the Pack will look to have a big offensive match when it battles the Tigers.

Sunday's match against Colorado College will be broadcast live on Stadium. Get your tickets for this weekend's home games today by calling (775) 348-PACK or by visiting NevadaWolfPack.com.
