FORT COLLINS, Colo. – Nevada women's golf sophomore
Jenny Krause, jumped 21 spots following day two of the Ptarmigan Ram Classic, hosted by Colorado State.
Krause played the best round of her collegiate career on Monday, carding a career-low 73. With her 75 in the first round and 73 in round two, she is at 4-over par for the tournament. On Monday she made four birdies during her round, including three on the back nine. She is tied for 23
rd after two rounds, which leads the Wolf Pack.
As a team the Wolf Pack stayed put in the team standings, tied for 11
th place in the 15-team field. Nevada shot one stroke higher than its first round total and has totaled a 601 (300-301) after two rounds. Mountain West foe San Jose State is the only team in the field to be under par for the tournament, at just 1-under. The Spartans lead New Mexico State by three shots heading into Tuesday's final round.
Elsewhere for the Wolf Pack, junior
Kaitlin Collom had the most improved round of any Nevada player as she shaved 10 strokes off of her round one score. Collom bounced back from an 84 on Sunday to post a 2-over 74 on Monday. She played her final 10 holes at 2-under par and made 12 pars.
Senior
Celyn Khoo carded a 76 in her second round after a couple of double bogeys upped her score. Junior
Chaithra Katamneni fired a 6-over 78 in her second round and is tied for 57
th place. Senior
Jordan Keyser struggled in her Monday round, shooting an 80 and dropping to a tie for 70
th place in the 84-player field.
