RENO, Nev. – The University of Nevada men's basketball team that captured the 2017 Mountain West Championship will be honored prior to tipoff of the season opening game with Idaho on Friday. Renowned painter and singer Joe Everson will perform the National Anthem. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Lawlor Events Center.
Members of the team, staff and administration that are available will receive rings to honor their accomplishments from last season. The Wolf Pack won the Mountain West regular season and tournament championships last season finishing the year 28-7. The Pack earned a bid to the NCAA Tournament for the first time in a decade.
Three banners will also be unveiled, the MW regular season champions, MW tournament championship and NCAA appearance banners will be hung from the rafters of LEC.
Everson will sing the National Anthem while painting a patriotic scene. Everson travels the nation as a favorite of professional sports teams and Fortune 500 companies.
