RENO, Nev. – Nevada softball's Kendall Fritz has been named Mountain West Pitcher of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday. It's the sophomore's second weekly honor of the season and second of her career. In addition, Fritz has been named Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week. 

"Kendall continues to prove that she is one of the top pitchers in the Mountain West," said Nevada head coach Josh Taylor. "She earned every bit of this honor with her performance this past weekend against Colorado State."

The Frisco, Texas, native compiled a standout performance against Colorado State on April 17-18, going 2-0 and posting a 0.93 ERA in 15 innings of work. Fritz totaled five strikeouts and gave up one earned run on six hits in Nevada's 5-3 series-opening victory over Colorado State. Then, Fritz capped the series with a 4-3, eight-inning victory over the Rams on April 18. In the series finale, Fritz struck out five Colorado State hitters and gave up only one earned run. Fritz is fourth in the conference in wins (8) and strikeouts (82).

Fritz and the Pack take the field again on April 24-25 for a three-game series against Fresno State in Fresno, Calif.
