Women’s track and field sophomore Nicola Ader has been named Wolf Pack Student-Athlete of the Week after her performance at the Mountain West Challenge last Friday in Las Vegas.
The native of Affolterbach, Germany won the high jump, tying an outdoor personal record with a mark of 5’ 11.25” (1.81 m). The height is tops in the Mountain West this season, number four in the west tied for seventh in the NCAA. Ader qualified for the Indoor National Championships in the high jump last month.
Ader also won the long jump with a leap of 19’ 1.5” (5.83 m), which would be fifth in the Mountain West this season. Ader’s season high of 19’ 9” (6.02 m), set at the Aztec Invitational last month, sits in third.
Winning the two events contributed 18 points to the Wolf Pack’s total of 187, leading to the a first-place finish.
Ader will be back in action next week for Stanford’s Cardinal Classic from April 19-20.
