Nevada jump up the leaderboard in round two of the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational

RENO, Nev. - Nevada Men's Golf continued play at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational Tuesday, shooting an impressive 285 (-3) in round two. The Pack moved four places up the leaderboard into a tie for fourth place, on a tricky day where the scoring average was 74.49.

Monte Chumchaivate spearheaded the Wolf Pack starting five in round two, posting a four under-par 68. Chumchaivate opened his round strongly, birdieing three of his first seven holes to go out in 33. He made two birdies and a bogey in a back nine 35 to round out his 68. He finished the day inside the top ten in a tie for seventh place at two under-par.

Jonathan Kim bounced back after a tough opening round 77, posting a three under par 69 in round two. Kim offset the two bogies made on the round with five birdies, two of them coming in his final six holes. Kim jumped up the leaderboard after his impressive second round, sitting in a tie for 28th at two over-par.

Aaron Leach and Lapassapon Heras-Gomez posted the final two counting scores of the round for the Pack, both posting two over-par 74's. Leach had a slightly more eventful day, making three birdies on the round, offset by five bogies. Heras-Gomez played slightly cleaner golf, parring all front nine holes, before posting three bogies and a birdie on the back. Leach sits in a tie for 27th at two over-par, whilst Heras-Gomez sits 34th at three over-par.

Riki Matsumoto wasn't far behind the two over pair, posting a three over-par second round. Matsumoto still managed three birdies on the round, with those offset by four bogies and a double, in blustery conditions. Matsumoto sits in a tie for 27th at two over-par heading into the final round.

Playing as an individual, Tiger Xie posted a second round of six over-par 78, that included two birdies at the mid point of the round, but struggled to keep bogies off the card, making eight on the day. He sits in a tie for 90th place at +14.
