Reno, Nev. - Nevada Track and Field concluded competition at the Wolf Pack Classic and Combined Events, Saturday, highlighted by a school record in the 400m from
Annalies Kalma.
The 60m hurdles kicked off day three action, with
Misa Holland the fastest for the Pack, running a 9.02 to place 11th, missing out on qualifying for the final by three spots.
Savana Chalmers was the only other Pack hurdler, running a 9.18 to place 18th.
Magdalene George returned to the 60m dash for the first time in 11 months, running a 7.50 to qualify for the finals in sixth.
Vivian Groppe also ran for the Pack, running a 7.78 to place 27th in a strong field. In the final, Maggie George ran a 7.42 to place 4th, a strong return for George.
Annalies Kalma continued her record setting ways on day three, setting a new school, facility and meet record in the 400m. Kalma best her previous school record, running a 52.31, currently the 13th best time in the NCAA for the 400m.
Kylee Parsons also ran a strong race, setting a new personal best of 55.02, the sixth fastest time in school history.
Halyn Senegal returned to indoor track for the first time in two years, running the 600m in 1:33.78, to place third overall, a very strong return for Senegal.
Aubrey Thompson was the sole competitor for the Pack in the 3000m, running a personal best 10:26.34, to place third. Thompson ran a consistent race, maintaining third throughout the majority of the race and staying strong through the finish.
Meekness Dogonyaro dominated the triple jump competition, jumping 12.77m in flight two, qualifying in first for the finals. In the finals Dogonyaro did not improve on her previous mark, winning the competition by 0.77m.
The 4x400m relays concluded competition at the Wolf Pack Classic and Combined Events, with the Nevada A team of
Malena Galvan,
Annalies Kalma,
Kylee Parsons and
Halyn Senegal placing second with a time of 3:38.24, the second fastest 4x400m relay in Nevada school history. The Nevada B team (Ovedje, Harris, Denver, Groppe) ran strongly, placing second in their heat with a time of 3:50.03. Nevada C (Diaz, Holt, Chalmers, DeMartini) also ran a strong race, taking out their heat with a time of 3:58.12, placing 11th overall.
Nevada Track and Field will return next week, February 13-14 for the Battle Born Classic.
