Pack claims five top-15 finishes on final day of Nevada Invitational

RENO, Nev. - Erica Lynch posted her fourth top-seven finish in as many days on Tuesday's final day of competition at Mt. Rose Ski Tahoe. The Nevada Invitational came to a close with Tuesday's giant slalom races.

With finishes of fourth, fifth, and sixth already under her belt, Lynch took seventh in the giant slalom with a combined time of 2:00.99. Sitting in 10th after her first run, Lynch clocked the sixth-fastest time in the second run to climb three spots and solidify another top-seven performance.

She was one of three Wolf Pack women to finish top-13 on the day. Sophia Falter followed her 10th-place giant slalom finish Monday by coming in 12th Tuesday in 2:01.69. Zali Sutton was right behind her in 13th, clocking the second run's fifth-fastest time (1:01.90) to gain seven positions with a combined time of 2:02.21.

David Morken got the Wolf Pack mens side's second giant slalom top-10 of the meet, coming in right on the number with a combined time of 1:58.27. Morken came in at a minute flat in the first run before posting a time of 58.27 for his second run to claim the top-10 finish.

Engebret Halbjoerhus, who finished 10th Monday, grabbed another top-15 finish with a time of 1:58.27 Tuesday. His second-run time of 57.85 was third-best among the field and helped him improve nine places in the final standings. Peyton Wells (1:58.95) and Pietro Bisello (1:59.03) finished 18th and 19th, respectively, to round out Wolf Pack top-20 finishes.

Nevada's final regular-season meet will be in three weeks at the University of Utah Invitational from February 22-24. From there it will be on to the RMISA Championships (Feb. 26-27) and NCAA Championships (March 11-14).
