RENO, Nev. - The Nevada Wolf Pack (19-9; 11-6 MW) secured a 67-60 victory over the New Mexico Lobos (21-7; 12-5 MW) on Tuesday afternoon at Lawlor Events Center.
Elijah Price,
Corey Camper Jr., and
Vaughn Weems led the Pack offense. Price recorded 21 points and 12 rebounds, while Camper Jr. and Weems scored 20 points apiece with eight and six rebounds, respectively. The 20 points marked a career high for Weems.
Defensively,
Elijah Price recorded four blocks while
Tayshawn Comer led the team with three steals.
Nevada shot 40 percent from the field, 29 percent from three-point range, and 73 percent from the free throw line while holding New Mexico to 38 percent shooting, 29 percent from deep, and 57 percent at the line.
The Pack held the edge in points off turnovers (14-12) and points in the paint (28-24).
First Half:
Nevada opened the game on an 8-0 run inside Lawlor Events Center.
New Mexico responded with a 7-0 run to tie the game, 12-12, with under eight minutes remaining in the half.
The Lobos took their first lead after a layup by Tajavis Miller made it 18-16.
Both teams continued to battle the rest of the half, heading into the break tied at 23-23.
Second Half:
New Mexico came out strong in the second half, building a 31-25 lead.
Nevada continued to push, cutting the deficit to 47-45 on a layup by
Vaughn Weems.
The teams were tied again at 54-54 with four minutes remaining after a made free throw from
Elijah Price.
The Pack took control late to secure the 67-60 victory.

The Pack will go back on the road to face in-state rival, UNLV, in Las Vegas, Nev., on February 28 at 7 p.m.
