RENO, Nev. — Nevada Softball has announced the promotion of Aaliyah Jenkins to Assistant Coach, elevating the former Wolf Pack standout after her impactful work in player development.

Jenkins, a Nevada alumna who spent her entire collegiate career in Silver and Blue, was a cornerstone of the program's rise in recent years. A dynamic competitor and respected team leader, she helped guide the Pack to new heights which includes the 2025 Mountain West Regular Season Champions, one of the most significant achievements in program history.

Jenkins capped off her Nevada career with a historic season, becoming the first female recipient of the 2024–25 Mountain West Scholar-Athlete of the Year award. A driving force behind the Wolf Pack's first Mountain West regular season title and a 41–14 overall record (18–4 MW), she was named Mountain West Player of the Year and earned spots on both the All-Mountain West First Team and the NFCA All-Mountain First Team. In May, Jenkins was selected to the D1Softball All-America Second Team at catcher which was Nevada's first All-American since 2008 and only the second in program history since softball was reinstated in 2003. Over four standout seasons, she collected Mountain West Freshman of the Year honors (2022), earned All-Mountain West recognition every year (three First Team selections), and rewrote the record books as Nevada's all-time leader in home runs (54), RBIs (196), total bases (447), and slugging percentage (.719). Jenkins also earned five Mountain West Player of the Week awards, becoming the first Pack athlete to do so since 2005.

With Jenkins joining the coaching staff, Nevada strengthens its commitment to developing talent and sustaining the championship standard established in recent seasons.
