RENO, Nev. - Five Nevada players scored in the double-digits to help Nevada earn a 92-83 win against Wyoming on Saturday night in Lawlor Events Center.
Corey Camper Jr. and
Elijah Price led the offense after both set career highs in points against the Cowboys. Camper Jr. had 31 points along with seven rebounds, while Price scored 20 and secured 13 boards. Both also made their impact on the defensive end, protecting the rim with two and three blocks, respectively.
Tayshawn Comer also had an efficient double-double with 10 points and 10 assists, while also recording zero turnovers.
Peyton White and
Amire Robinson also came up huge off the bench, finishing with 10 points apiece.
Nevada outscored Wyoming in the paint (38-32) and finished shooting 61 percent from the field, 63 percent from three, and 83 percent from the line.
First Half:
Nevada started the game off strong with a 10-5 lead after a pair of three-pointers from
Corey Camper Jr.
The Cowboys cut the deficit to 15-14, but the Pack kept control of the game.
The Pack extended its lead to 34-28 after Camper Jr.'s fourth three-pointer of the half.
Wyoming and Nevada battled through until the end, but the Cowboys closed out the half up 39-38.
Second Half:
The Pack came out of the locker room hot as they shot 71 percent from the field and 83 percent from three in the second half.
Nevada grew their lead to 12 points at the 4-minute mark after a
Vaughn Weems steal and slam.
The Pack kept control of the game and ran out the clock for a 92-83 win against the Cowboys.
