Myrtle Beach, S.C. - The Wolf Pack kicked off the day two of the Golfweek Fall Challenge hosted by Golfweek with 18 more holes, posting a 282 (-6) to sit in 3rd at -15 (279-282=561).
The best performer for the Wolf Pack on day two was sophomore
Jonathan Kim who played consistent golf all day to post a five under-par 67. Kim made six birdies offset by one bogey, firing up the leaderboard into a tie for 6th.
Ben Ortwein backed up his impressive round one 68 with a round of two under-par 70. Starting the day off with a double bogey, Ortwein fought back making four birdies without a dropped shot in his final 17 holes. Ortwein sits in a tie for 6th heading into tomorrow's final round.
Next best for the Pack was
Supakit (Oak) Seelanagae, who had a rough start to the day going out in 41 and coming back to 31 for a even-par 72. Seelanagae's back nine included four birdies with no bogeys. He sits 32nd heading into the final round.
Freshman
Riki Matsumoto showed flashes of form for the most of the day, sitting at two under on the day with two holes to play. Matsumoto finished the day with a score of one over-par 73, placing him in 25th at two under-par.
Rounding out the Pack starting five was
Liam Gobin, who had a solid front nine, going out in two under-par 35. Gobin finished the day with a two over-par 74, placing him in 52nd at three over-par.
Playing as an individual,
Aaron Leach had an almost identical round to round one, posting another even-par 72 on day two, making three birdies offset by three bogies. Leach sits in a tie for 38th following round two.
The Pack will be back in action tomorrow for round three, looking to make a final push to the top of the leaderboard.
