Nevada takes home multiple medals to conclude Mountain West Outdoor Championships

Clovis, Calif. - Nevada concluded the Mountain West Outdoor Championships today in Clovis, California. The Pack took home six medals on the final day, four individual and two for the relay teams. Nevada placed sixth in the team championships and have a lot to be excited about heading into next year.

In the triple jump, Meekness Dogonyaro earned a podium finish by placing second with a mark of 13.23m, while Kaja Maltaric took tenth with a jump of 12.08m.

In the high jump, Hazel Gaspaire cleared 1.65m to place sixth. Three Nevada athletes Valeria Paez-Rueda, Mary Casserly, and Stina Larsson each cleared 1.60m, with Casserly and Larsson recording personal bests. Paez-Rueda finished thirteenth, Casserly fourteenth, and Larsson fifteenth.

Nevada's 4x100m relay team of Kylee Parsons, Magdalene George, Annalies Kalma, and Vivian Groppe finished third overall with a time of 45.21, which ranks fourth all-time in program history.

In the 400m final, Annalies Kalma earned a third-place finish, clocking in at 53.90.

Magdalene George had a standout sprint double, finishing second in both the 100m and 200m finals. She ran 11.34 in the 100m and 23.12 in the 200m.

In the 5000m, Natalia Martino placed twenty-sixth with a personal-best time of 17:04.63, and Paulina Hultberg finished thirty-eighth in 17:57.50.

Nevada wrapped up the meet in the 4x400m relay, where the team of Parsons, Kalma, Groppe, and Halyn Senegal placed third with a time of 3:41.70. 

As a team, Nevada scored 77 points to finish sixth overall in the final standings. New Mexico captured the women's championship with 153 points.

This concludes the Wolf Pack's regular season, some of the Pack's best athletes will be in action in two weeks time at NCAA West Preliminaries in College Station, Texas.
